Frequently Asked Questions
If you are considering working with Treemark CNC and want to know more about how we operate, the answers below should cover most of what you need. If your question is not here, call or email us directly and we will be happy to help.
-
Do you work with private customers or trade only?
We work with trade and commercial clients only. Our service is geared towards businesses that need accurately cut components as part of an ongoing production process, rather than one-off private commissions.
-
Where are you based and do you deliver nationally?
We are based at our workshop in Basford, Nottingham. We deliver to trade clients across the whole of the UK, direct to your workshop, site, or storage facility, depending on what suits your operation best.
-
How do I place an order?
Send us your drawings along with your material requirements, quantities, and any job-specific notes. We will review everything, come back to you with any questions, and provide a quote. Once you are happy to proceed, we will schedule the work and confirm your lead time.
-
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
No. We take on jobs of all sizes, from single prototype components through to large ongoing production contracts. The level of care that goes into each job does not change based on order size.
-
Can I send materials directly to you?
Yes. If you are supplying your own sheet material, you can arrange delivery to our Basford workshop. Let us know in advance so we can make sure everything is logged correctly when it arrives.
-
What file formats do you need?
We work from DXF and DWG files. These are the most common formats used in CNC routing and give us everything we need to programme and machine your components accurately. If your files are in a different format, contact us before sending and we will advise on the best course of action.
-
What else do I need to include with my files?
Along with your drawings, please include your chosen material, sheet thickness, and the quantity of each component required. Any notes about tolerances, grain direction, or specific machining requirements are also useful at this stage. The more information you provide upfront, the smoother the job will run.
-
What if my drawings have errors or are not quite ready?
Send them anyway and we will take a look. Part of our process involves reviewing files before any cutting takes place. If we spot something that needs addressing, we will come back to you with clear feedback before anything is committed to material.
-
Which materials do you work with?
We regularly machine MDF in standard and moisture resistant grades, plywood, melamine-faced chipboard, and laminated or veneered boards. We also work with selected solid timber on a job-by-job basis. If you are working with something outside this range, get in touch with the specification and we will confirm whether it falls within our capabilities.
-
Can you advise on material selection?
To a degree, yes. If you are unsure which board type or grade is most appropriate for your application, we are happy to share our experience. We work with these materials day in, day out and can offer practical guidance based on how components are likely to be machined, edged, and used.
-
How quickly can you turn a job around?
Turnaround times depend on the complexity of the job, the materials involved, and our current workshop capacity. We will always give you a clear lead time when quoting and we do not take on work we cannot deliver on time. If your job is urgent, tell us upfront and we will let you know whether we can accommodate it.
-
How will my components be packaged and delivered?
Components are carefully packaged to arrive in the same condition they left our workshop. Delivery is arranged to your specified address and confirmed as part of the order process. If you have specific delivery requirements or a preferred time window, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.
-
What happens if there is a problem with my order?
Get in touch with us as soon as possible. We stand behind the quality of our work and will always deal with any issues promptly and fairly. Our aim is to resolve problems quickly so they do not hold up your production.
